Canadian-born actor Stephen Amell has said that he’s flattered if he ever sees his name and a movie role mentioned in the same sentence because it doesn’t happen that much; that seems to be changing, if his current career track is any indication.

Stephen broke into the acting business when he was a teenager, while attending the all boys St. Andrew’s College in Ontario, Canada. His first role on “Queer as folk” (2000) as a spinning instructor must have hit close to home; according to Stephen, when he first started working as an actor he had to teach spinning classes to support himself. He picked up several small recurring roles in various television series, including “Degrassi: The new generation” (2001), “Beautiful people” (2005), and “Rent-a-Goalie” (2006-2008) which apparently was an actual show that people watched.
